Obituary of George William Murphy III
George William Murphy III from Pensacola, FL passed away to be with the Lord on February 11, 2025.
George was born in Mount Holly, NJ in 1944 and graduated from Burlington City High School in 1962. He was married to his beloved wife, Florence for 62 years and raised 5 children in Burlington, NJ. He was a proud officer of the Burlington City Police Department where he was a member of the "Hot Dog Squad" where he enjoyed his work and serving the community for several years before retiring and moving his family to southern California where he worked civil service for several years at Point Mugu Naval Air Station. He then returned to his hometown of Burlington, NJ for a few more years before he ultimately retired in Florida to spend his time with his wife and his bird friend Freddy.
George is preceded in death by his parents George William Murphy II and Marjorie Sooy and his only son George W. Murphy IV. He is survived by his wife Florence Ulissi-Murphy, brothers Dave (Jacqui), Troy(Rose) and sister Renee(Bob), daughters Teresa, Lorri, Amy and Danielle(Frank).George also has 8 grandchildren, Ken, Joseph, Daniel, Adam, Kristin, Zach, Luke, and Tyler which he was very proud of and 5 great grandchildren.
George will be cremated at Christian Family Funeral Home, Pensacola FL and no immediate services are planned at this time.
