Tribute of Love for Mr. Jordan B. Hale
Hast thou not known? And Hast thou not heard? That the everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor gets weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might, He increases their strength. – Isaiah 40: 28 – 29
To the Family of Mr. Jordan B. Hale,
It is with profound sadness that I express my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to my family in the transition of my beloved cousin, Mr. Jordan B. Hale.
Whereas, Jordan was a beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin, and friend. Jordan was a stout man of valor, honor, and prestige. Jordan professed his hope in Christ at a very young age and he always gave homage and reverence to God for His wonderous works in life. Jordan was a man of great courage who sought to do things in his own special way, however, he possessed a very tender heart to which he genuinely loved his family and friends, unconditionally.
Whereas, family, in the words that great poet, Langston Hughes, life for Jordan “ain’t been no crystal stair.” For Jordan endured trials, tribulations, hardships, and the testing of his faith that gave him the strength needed to endure this life’s journey. So today, as you crown Jordan as the King in his own right, to bid him a Christian farewell, may the God of all comfort guard your hearts and give you peace that surpasses all understanding.
Family, especially to you, Cousin Marie, Uncle Zennie, Mr. Herbert, and Cousin Brandon; I know your hearts heavy and filled with disbelief and great sorrow. As I write this tribute with my eyes filled with tears, I want to remind you that God is your refuge and strength and your very present help in the time of trouble. With the holidays fast approaching, may the love of God and the sweet communion of the Holy Spirit, measure out your days, and apply His strength to get you through. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Sorry that I am unable to be present there with you today.
Therefore, Be It Resolved, family, that I embrace you in our common bond of grief and remembrance of Cousin Jordan B. Hale. Though he may have left us outwardly, he never leaves us inwardly. May the deposit of his presence and love live on in our hearts forever.
Be It Further Resolved: A copy of this resolution be given to the family, and a copy kept in our family records.
