Ethel Montgomery was born on November 30, 1939 to the late Coleman and Leona Williams, in Frisco City, Alabama. She was a long life resident of Pensacola, Florida, where she was united in marriage to the late Mr. James Montgomery. She was employed with the Escambia County School District for 35 years. She was a faithful member, serving in the choir, and on the Trustee Board at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. From living in this world from November 30, 1939, there was a heavenly called made that she could not ignore. She answered that call on Friday, April 03, 2020, that allowed her to transitioned from time to eternity at her home in Pensacola, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Montgomery, daughter, Carolyn J. Brye, sister, Creola Bryant, brother, Booker T. Williams, Sr., and parents, Leona and Coleman Williams. She leaves to cherish in her memory, one daughter, Dr. Shelton D. Wright (Dr. Robert Wright), Stone Mountain, Georgia; one son, Virgil L. Knight, Pensacola, Florida; one sister, Anna Hodges, Los Angeles, California; four grandchildren, Ashley Montgomery, Justine Brye, Jasmine Brye, and Akiva Brye; nine great-grand children, A’aria, Rufus, Destyne Rease, A’kira, Malaysia Bramlett, Torri’elle Crenshaw, Justin, Jr., Jaiden, and Jakaylin Brye, Pensacola, Florida; three sisters-in laws, Verma Brinkley, Austin, Texas, Louise Reeves and Lucille Montgomery, Pensacola, Florida; God Child, Corona Joseph; a special niece, Melissa Bryant, Pensacola, Florida; special dear friends, Della Roberts, Charlie Randolph, Earlene Terrell, Pensacola, Florida, and a host of nieces and nephews. A Public Viewing will be held on Friday, April 10, 2020 from 9:00 - 5:00 pm at Christian Family Funeral, 4020 North Davis Hwy., Pensacola, Florida 32503. Due to the Coronavirus -19 situation, there will be a “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service at a later date at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Two weeks prior to the Memorial Service an announcement will be in the Pensacola News Journal, also announced at the church.
